Description and objectives:

Metrological systems are undergoing a technological shift driven by the demand for greater precision in manufacturing and enabled by new laser-based manufacturing techniques, which offer greater versatility for producing devices with more complex functionalities.

The market positioning of these products depends on continuous improvements in their precision, tolerance, and cost. Currently, devices based on diffraction gratings (the most standard for industrial applications, robotics, drones, etc.) are reaching the technological limits associated with the manufacturing paradigm, making the development of new technologies critical.

In this context, the MINIMET project focuses on a dual approach: the introduction of new technologies and miniaturization to address the market demands in metrology positioning. Its primary objective is to develop optical and photonic technology that enables the miniaturization of industrial components at competitive prices, delivering high value-added functionalities.
